TRUE LOVE.
ME: Hey, did you see Rachel Getting Married? I really liked that one.
DAN CHO: Yeah. But you know what I didn’t get about that movie? Who has weddings like that wedding?! Who has friends like those people?
ME: You’re going to have to come to a Purchase wedding some time.
Bess and Chris are totally going to have a Purchase/Rachel Getting Married wedding and I am going to be there. Oh my god I fucking LOVE my friends. And I miss New York.
This is the best photo selection ever.
“this song is called ‘thank you’ and i wrote it about being really happy that there are lots of singersongwriters that write depressing songs, cuz when im sad i wanna go listen to songs that make me feel worse” ~Lauren Zettler. what im about to do…
that is definitely an itunes top 10 single
this is really fucking funny.
HA HA HA.
Lauren “First Take” Zettler is a talented, flawless vocalist.
But when she’s not, she curses like a sailor with a stubbed toe. Luckily for you, I saved some of those out takes from our recent sessions for our new holiday album, Sounds Like Snow, and put together a sort of blooper reel. We’ve lovingly dubbed this one the “Fucktrack.”
Enjoy.
Thank you, Cameron. Thank you, Lauren. I think we should do this live.
is MORE amazing live (yes its possible

HAPPY BIRTHDAY INGRID
30 Reasons Why Ingrid Michaelson Is Awesome
1. She writes her own songs. Not only does she write, she writes beautifully.
2. She is totally self-deprecating, but in a funny way, and it’s not annoying.
3. Her tweets. For instance, “if you are not supposed to pick your nose, why is your finger perfectly designed to fit in there?” and “i have a half sucked on butterscotch in my pocket and im looking forward to finishing it later. you have to space out your joy.”
4. She wears glasses. So fierce. The end.
5. She drops the f-bomb at her shows. Not sure how common this is because I don’t go to concerts often (i.e. never, sadly) but still.
6. You understand what her songs mean at first listen.
7. Also, it feels like her songs just speak to you. She’s one of those artists.
8. She goes to malls and tries to see if she’s famous or not for fun by singing parts of her most famous song.
9. Her New York accent kicks in at random times.
10. “People like to discover music and keep it secret, their little secret, and when other people hear about you, you’re not cool anymore, and you’re not the secret, but I think those people are just very into the ‘scene’ and not really into the music, just into the idea of knowing things before other people do. [Laughs] I feel bad for those people. It’s a very close-minded way of thinking, but that’s okay. They can go find another ‘indie’ artist and be happy that nobody knows her! Success versus failure is basically what it is,” Sentimentalist Interview
True story.
11. She has very dry humor.
12. This just in.. this tweet: “birthday pizza is the best kind of pizza. ah…19 is a great age!”
13. She produces her own records. Talk about “awesome women doing awesome things”!
14. She knows a ridiculous amount of facts about Full House.
15. She is approachable. She’s not stuck on herself, and she does her best in talking to her fans.
16. She has songs named “Twitter Song”, “G-String Song”, and “Mexican Food Song”. Enough said.
17. SHE COMES TO MASSACHUSETTS OFTEN. Okay, this is just for me, but not many of my favorite artists come here. I haven’t seen her yet though, so I am so upset.
18. She created a rap remix of her song “The Way I Am”.
19. Dude. She has a Tumblr. She can’t get any cooler.
20. She does beautiful duets with Greg Laswell.
21.
22. The line “But its not fitting in that will help to begin to show you your beauty” from “Charlie”.
23. This video:
24. I know this is obvious, but her voice. is. amazing.
25. Her cover of “Skinny Love” is incredible.
26. She plays the ukulele.
27. She has the ability to amuse my cranky, cynical, pessimistic best friend. That takes some serious skill.
28.
29. She can bring beauty into a song that is less than 2 minutes long - “Keep Me Close” and “When The Leaves” are under 2 min, and are my favorite songs.
30. She is completely her own person.
Feel free to add your own!
@ingridmusic helps gain exposure of her wonderful musiciany-tour-friend-pals just by letting people see how great they are
she lets Chris be as silly as he likes on stage

Allison Weiss and That Damn Red Hoodie (photo by Dannielle)
Dear Allison, that should be your next album title.
This is an open letter to Allison Weiss, because I wanted to publicly proclaim my love and affection for all the world to see.
I should be really upset that you stole my favorite t-shirt. But I can’t, because I can’t be mad at you. I had the best time ever while you were here, and I just wanted to take a second to thank you, because you are the epitome of what a fellow musician should be. You are supportive, encouraging, positive, fun, and you work harder than anyone I’ve ever met. You care about being professional, and you care about making sure everyone is having the BNE (best night ever). Everyone knows you’re going to succeed, because everyone knows you deserve it. You write really great songs. You’re doing really incredible things, all the time. I don’t know how you do it, but thank you for letting me be a part of it. NYC can’t wait to have you back for good.
xo
Lauren
my definition of an artist worthy of praise is one that can sing their radio hit songs live. because let me tell something. NOT MANY CAN. thats why mainstream artists are ehhh and indie is better. the end. agreed?
